We are a locally owned eyewear store, located in the Maine Mall. Our mission is to provide exceptional customer service to every patient, while fulfilling their individual optical needs. We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming, and inviting atmosphere. Being locally owned we have the luxury of supplying many quality hand selected frames to create a fun experience for each patient, to achieve their optical needs as well as fashion preference.

We are seeking a new Sales Associate/Optician to join our team. Your role will be to assist patients with interpreting their prescription, finding insurance benefits, and selecting a frame. Other daily tasks would include frame adjustments and/or repairs, basic filing, light cleaning and frame sanitizing. We are looking for a motivated upbeat team member to add to our South Portland location conveniently located in the Food Court of the Maine Mall. The ideal candidate would be a patient person with a welcoming demeanor that has thirst for knowledge.

No experience needed, we are happy to train you to become the next best Optician in Maine.

What You Will Do:

• Greeting each patient in timely manner
• Assisting patients with frame selection
• Interpreting patients prescription
• Measuring for fit
• Adjusting & verifying types of lenses
• Looking up insurance benefits & pricing for patients
• Basic POS & computer knowledge
• Build and maintain relationships with our patients while providing a welcoming and warm environment.
• Office duties- filing, organizing frames, light cleaning, answering phones, sanitizing frames.
• Adjusting and repairing frames
• Problem solving & creative thinking
• Attentive to details; reviews prescriptions and/or patient information carefully;

What You Will Bring:
Our ideal candidate will have the following credentials/skills:

• High School or GED
• Sales and Customer Service
• Optical Sales is a plus

Salary range for this position is starting at $16 per hour + (plus bonus/commission) depending on the level of experience with being an Optician. We offer the following benefits:
